From Towels to Masks – Switch in Production to Beat Corona Impact

For almost 20 years, BC SoftWear have been supplying luxury towels, bathrobes and footwear to the UK hospitality sector. As the Corona impact was also felt by the small, family run business, they were  forced to react without delay.

After a few customers enquired about the possibility for BC SoftWear to supply face masks, they did a quick customer survey to establish demand. Based on the outcomes, the company started to design and deliver a face mask that their customers in the hotel, laundry and spa sectors could rely upon.

The washable mask is made from 100% natural cotton and composed of three layers. The outer and inner layers are made of cotton with a protective synthetic fabric middle layer, which improves breathing  and protection from moisture and droplets. The mask is not only to help air filtration, but it has a sculpted shape and a soft wire to make it more comfortable to wear. The middle protection layer is made from a non-woven bonded fabric. Important to realize is, that the mask is NOT a medical mask. The recommended washing temperature is 60°C.
