During the LCT CleanEx show – which was organized on 22 & 23 April – CINET organized a program for international visitors on 23 & 24 April with visits to the show and several London based laundry and dry cleaning businesses.
First results 2018
CleanEx is the UK’s only trade show for Professional Textile Care that launched in 2012. Ever since it has grown in popularity and also starts to gain attention of international suppliers & manufacturers. Visiting the show was a good start of the trip where time was well spent at the marvelous location of the Ascot Racecourse. Although visitors data still has to be analysed LCT reports a 30% increase in pre-registered numbers compared to the 2016 event. Furthermore the networking dinner was once again a true highlight of the program, with a raffle raising over £2000 for pancreatic cancer.
Show organizer Mr. Mark Gleed received the group of visitors in a VIP room (see featured image) with a beautiful view over the marvelous racecourse were the people could take a coffee and relax. Other than that, CINET was represented with a small booth at the show for people to meet up, conveniently leave some luggage or try out the e-learning program.
UK Company visits
The remaining program was filled with visits to laundry and dry cleaning companies in the London area. The group got an extensive insight in the Laundrapp platform by visiting DCB (The Dry Cleaning Business) which processes all the laundry for Laundrapp in the London (central) area. Apart from the company visit the group also visited the HQ of Laundrapp to get a live demo of the platform from Jack de Montaignac (Chief Commercial Officer) as well as a masterclass digital marketing from the head of marketing, Saavik Wilcox-Hamilton.
In terms of industrial laundries the group visited a State of the Art site of Clean Services in Slough, a highly automated, 100% flat-linen plant for the hospitality segment in and around London. This plant processes 1 million pieces every week and operates 7 days a week. Marketing manager Ted Walker gave an extensive tour of this Award winning company that will also participate in the Global Best Practices Awards at Expo Detergo 19th of October. Furthermore Cottage Laundry was visited where the group was very warmly welcomed by Ron Davidson, a long-time industry whom has seen and done it all.
