‘Grow Some Sunshine’, a CSR Campaign of UK-based Barker Laundry

In order to support a hospice’s ‘Grow Some Sunshine’ campaign in the neighbourhood, Barker Dry Cleaning and Laundry – a leading domestic laundry and drycleaner specialist in the UK – has purchased 3,000 seed packets in order to give them to the business’s private laundry customers.

MD Matthew Barker said that when he heard of the initiative he sensed the opportunity to give a little gift to customers and at the same time helping the local hospice. The charity had recently helped the family of a member of his staff. He considered this a chance to say thank you and spreading the word so others can be helped. The company will also support the campaign by selling seed packets in their dry cleaning shops in various towns in the area.

Corporate partnerships fundraiser Nicki Cluley states that the charity’s nurses bring sunshine into patients’ lives during some of the most difficult times they will ever face. The ‘Grow Some Sunshine’ campaign intends to bring families and communities together to grow giant sunflowers this summer! The gardens of Dorset and those of Barker customers will be filled with their summery faces as a thank you the nurses to keep providing their much-needed service!
