High-Efficiency Solar System Installed at Unifirst’s Plant in Texas (USA)

UniFirst announced that it has begun generating solar power at its industrial textile services facility in San Antonio, Texas, according to a news release. The structure consists of a 232.5 kilowatt (kW) rooftop solar system with 612 high-efficiency solar panels, which will cover 25% of UniFirst’s plant annual energy use.

In terms of costs, the UniFirst’s solar power system will generate more than $25,000 in energy savings in its first year of operation. As the cost of electricity is expected to rise over time, the system will deliver long term benefits including an estimated $1,000,000 in lifetime utility cost savings.
