Jensen Group invests in laundry robotics and AI, by acquiring 30% of Inwatec

The JENSEN-GROUP will acquire a participation of 30% in Inwatec ApS, a Danish company that manufactures high-end heavy-duty laundry products, on January 1, 2018. It is an investment in laundry robotics and Artificial Intelligence that confirms the JENSENS’ vision to automate all processes in the laundry.

Founded in 2009 in Odense/Denmark, Inwatec operates in more than 25 countries, employing 30 staff around the globe. Inwatec’s core competence is in the field of automation, complementing the existing JENSEN product range. Inwatec spans a bridge between Industry 4.0 and JENSEN’s current offering in laundry solution. The product portfolio of Inwatec includes mat rollers, mat storage and material handling solutions, X-ray machines as well as sorting and distribution systems.

Inwatec also focuses on these aspects by creating a safer and more efficient working environment, in the same way as JENSEN values operational efficiency and safety. Inwatec has developed an X-ray machine running with AI software that selects and rejects garments carrying foreign items. The X-ray technology allows harmful objects such as pencils or tweezers to be removed and the eventuality of stab wounds or damage to the laundry equipment is nil. Complete automation systems for laundries processing mats range from the sorting area to the packaging and storage area. One of Inwatec’s recent development was a 3D camera technology driven robot, separating garments and small items at a high speed, a product that also complements JENSEN’s current offering to laundries.
