‘When Italians think about their laundry they should reach in their pocket and place an order on our app’. That is the mission which Mr. Luca Bignone, CEO of Lavadi, has set for the new laundry on demand initiative called “Lavadi” which had a launching press conference on the 5th of June 2018.
Changing consumer habits
Changing this consumer habit will also be the main challenge for this online platform, gradually rolling out its services across Italy (starting with Rome and Turin). Luckily the Lavadi team already has a perfectly prepared team in place to take care of marketing, operations, customer service and business development. The team is highly aware that their main competitor is the domestic machine at home. ‘On average each household wastes about 6 hours each week to take care of the laundry, that is exactly what Lavadi aims to change’ says Luca. Within their corner Lavadi has the Laundrapp software, which is a company that started a laundry on demand service in 2015 in the UK. Meanwhile that business has become the second largest professional textile cleaning business offering its service in 110 UK cities. Simon Leech, who recently became CEO of Laundrapp, expressed its absolute support to Lavadi. ‘Luca and his team have the right plan as well as the passion to make Lavadi a huge success”. CINET was represented by Leon Wennekes (Secretary General) at the press conference to congratulate the team of Lavadi with this milestone as well as to introduce one of its members for a potential collaboration.
