Laundry facility at Udaipur railway station

State of the art laundry facility at Udaipur railway station

A new state of the art laundry has been added to Udaipur city station in India, to cater to the growing demand. This is part of the extension of facilities for railway passengers, with the new laundry having a capability of 1.5 ton of textiles per shift. “The average requirement of linen washing is 2,7 ton and the laundry will run in 2 shifts and will cater to the complete requirement. In case of any further increase in demand, the plant will be run in three shifts or by adding more equipment,” said divisional railway manager (DRM) Puneet Chawla.

The installation and commission work of the facility has been done by M/s Super Shine Laundry System Private Limited, Gurgaon. By implementing such projects, the National Indian Railways aim to provide better services to passengers and increase hygiene standards. With the addition of the Udaipur facility, there are currently 4 rails stations that are equipped with state of the art automated laundries (Jaipur, Bikaner and Jodhpur being the other three).
