UK-based laundry firm Micronclean recently announced that work has started on its Indian cleanroom laundry.
This – to the company – important milestone was marked by a ceremony attended by British Deputy High Commissioner, Mr Dominic McAllister, Chairman of Micronclean Ltd, Simon Fry, Managing Director of Micronclean India, Andrew Cole and members of the Project Management team.
The ceremony was the culmination of months of activity in selecting the correct site to be able to tap into India’s rapidly expanding pharmaceutical industry. The multi-million-pound investment in an ISO Class 5 cleanroom laundry will use Micronclean’s proven process technologies to deliver a GMP compliant cleanroom laundry service that will be unique in India. It will also be an opportunity to develop innovative new technologies that can then be used back in the UK operations.
The company is a major privately-owned laundry company in the UK employing over 450 people and owned by one family since 1929, tracing its heritage back to the Skegness Steam Laundry in 1883.
