New Inclusive Laundry in Germany – Focus on Cleaning Textiles and … on PEOPLE!

The newly founded Integratex GmbH is stated to be Bavaria’s (southern Germany) first inclusive special laundry for cleaning textiles, such as microfiber cloths and mop covers. At the company headquarters in Dietmannsried in the Allgäu, people with and without disabilities work together on equal terms.

The non-profit company was founded by the Allgäuer Werkstätten in the city of Kempten, a facility for people with disabilities, and the KDS Services for Health and Care, a cleaning specialist in the healthcare sector. Integratex has set itself a clear target: 40 percent of jobs should be free for people with mental and physical disabilities, in order to offer them a permanent job in the primary labour market.

The idea for Integratex came from Ulrich Geiger, Managing Partner of the Lattemann & Geiger Service Group, to which KDS also belongs. The project aims to contribute to a better coexistence in society of all people – with and without disabilities – and to work together on the general labour market.  However, according to Karl-Heinz Häfele – Managing Director of Integratex – real inclusion will only succeed when the free economy as a whole takes up its responsibility.
