Scottish Laundry Receives Funding to Continue Service to NHS during Pandemic

Recently a Scottish newspaper reported on a funding by Royal Bank of Scotland to Cathkin Clean – a drycleaning and contract laundry specialist.

Cathkin Clean Scotland provides commercial laundry, drycleaning and linen hire services to a cross-section of essential industries throughout the country. The laundry has been operating since 1894, with NHS Scotland and NHS Lanarkshire among its clients. The company – subsidiary of Aberdeen Laundry Service (ALS) – had frozen its hospitality sector activities, because of social distancing measures affecting the hospitality industry.

The funding received from Royal Bank of Scotland has enabled the company to continue to support the intensified demands from the NHS in recent weeks. It has not only facilitated the company to retain staff members based at the temporarily closed hospitality sites, but also begin preparations to re-open their post-coronavirus recovery period.
