UK Survey: Hospitality Anti-Covid Restrictions & Post-Brexit Shortages Expected

According to a research by workforce management specialist Bizimply. hospitality operators in the UK believe that safety measures such as social distancing, wearing masks while not seated and hand gel will have to be continued for quite some time when they reopen. The survey is based on responses from owners and senior managers of hospitality  businesses such as restaurants, bars, coffee shops and hotels – representing hundreds of venues across the UK.

More than half of the respondents stated to welcome a card or online check to confirm whether a customer has been vaccinated. However, a considerable minority are uncertain about the introduction of so-called vaccine passports. Despite expectations that employment will rise over the coming year, the survey also shows some concern about staffing.

In total 93% believe that Brexit will have a negative effect on the availability of staff. In fact, 40% expect to be short of enough trained or experienced staff when reopening fully after the lockdown.
